Women Who Walk Through Darkness
Ten Women’s Stories of Gaslighting, Trauma Bonds and Dark Relationships
Ten women. No single account can stand in for them all.
Written and prepared for publication by Mehmet Gökhan İnce
About the book
Alessia doubts memories she once trusted. Eleanor becomes increasingly isolated inside a home that looks perfect to others. Selin struggles to distinguish her wishes from family expectations; Grace discovers the cost of defending her principles. These women do not live interchangeable lives. Each of the ten has her own reasons for silence, resistance, staying or leaving.
The stories follow psychological control as it emerges through a small remark, affection with conditions, or shame about one’s own feelings. Gaslighting and trauma bonds are considered through their effects within different relationships, rather than used to reduce each life to a label.
Mehmet Gökhan İnce’s fictional narratives offer no easy ending in which departure removes every hurt. Recovering a voice takes imperfect choices and an individual pace. Reading these women closely means hearing their differences without deciding their lives for them.
